Wake Me Up at 5

Image
Wake Me Up at 5 Her early morning snores have the rhythmic energy of a tractor Wakes me up from the farmland of my dreams But even in sleep, her love Like a warm blanket of her prayers Comforts me into assurance Silently wraps me up with energy Pushes me out  of my sleep womb Just what I need, to embrace another day of this impossible world. Her words are my healing.

Breeze

Image
Oh but the breeze has a language You’ve felt it’s squeeze Against your cheeks On a windy dusty day You can hear what it seeks As it comes to you From another land In a day or two You can feel it’s light dance Against the swaying green trees Or just upon a chance Feel it’s silent twinkle As it whispers against an old man’s wrinkles That’s when you know why The old man on the park bench Embraces the breeze and sighs. Even in a world so cold A world always in a rush Breeze is a friend to the old. Poetry Writing Poem

School of Nostalgia

Image
A white wooden door softly opens In the hallways of my mind Whispers of childhood laughter Echoing down its corridors as it unwinds To memories of our blackstoned school Where we broke every known rule One too many of those classroom things Ignoring the call of the school bell rings Where Algebra added up to a happy sum Of mischief joys to fill an album Like carving stories on the bench With a Geometry compass and the stench Of wet socks from a day of constant rain Having waded through flooded Bandra lanes Biology meant hearing Mr. Choubey's woes On the science of 'Yecks' & 'Why' cells While we drew happy faces on microbes Turning our textbooks to Doodle Hell Chemistry under the eyes of Mr Singh Took us to a journey through the Lab of Terror As Singh sang the music of Compounds While we gagged in the mists of burning Sulphur French was our only happy distraction Listening to Miss Fleur's accent, an attraction, When Parlez Vous Francais and conjugation Made...

Indiana Jones is back. And it’s about ‘Time’!

Image
Dial of Destiny relives the Jonesy we all love!   “It belongs to the Museum!” It’s the famous quip with the whip that Indiana Jones, aka, our most loved adventurer of all time, refers to time and again in the series. It’s almost a metaphor for the series that could define the timeless charm of the movie that continues to delight generations from Baby Boomers to Millennials to Gen X, Y, Z and AI. “Dial of Destiny” , the 5th in the series, manned by James Mangold in the directorial seat, delivers the punch of our swashbuckling archaeologist, and brings back the territory of most of what we are familiar and had fun with from where it all started in  Raiders of the Lost Ark:   neatly suited and booted Nazis, action-packed chases through the streets of Morocco, a young sidekick echoing Short Round in  Temple of Doom , a beautiful and mischievous female protagonist, a reference to a Christian relic like the one in  The Last Crusade , unforgettable villains, cha...

Celebrating #InternationalWomensDay/ Week/ Month with Chick's Day

Image
Chick's Day 2009  A Retro Social Conversation for women We don't just honour women on International Women's Day just for a day or a month. We celebrate them and recognise their tireless and selfless efforts every second of their invaluable time on this planet. Qs a mark of respect, it only seemed fitting to share this daring campaign done in 2009 for Nando's in Oman.  The following is a c ase history of how we turned a Day for Women , into a timeless S ocial Conversation for Women ... Background:  His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos of Oman passed a historic decree in 15th December, 2009 calling it ‘Women’s Day’ – a radical departure from a heavily male dominated country a reflection of a largely socially conservative fabric in Omani society.  Proactive Opportunity: We saw a terrific opportunity for the Nando’s brand in Oman to take a leaf out of this and reposition the Nando’s brand from the perspective of empowering women. This fitted in with the brand’s playful and ...
